Shelli Strand, Founder


Shelli Strand has more than eighteen years of marketing experience, spanning high tech, financial products and consumer goods. She specializes in helping technology clients acquire new customers and develop user and prospect communities through various leading edge marketing methods such as interactive, social and mobile technologies, as well as traditional media such as direct mail, email and online display programs.

Shelli combines vision, resources, and practical skills to deliver effective marketing thought leadership. She has developed and implemented marketing strategies and action plans for clients including SanDisk, Cisco Systems, Intuit , Seagate Services, Six Apart, Microsoft, Adobe, EFI, Inc, Apple Computer, Oracle, Sybase, Intelius, Veritas Software, Wells Fargo Bank, Charles Schwab and Company.

Bruce Carlisle


In 1996, Bruce co-founded and served as President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of SF Interactive, one of the nation's first full-service interactive marketing agencies. As the fastest growing privately-held company in the San Francisco Bay Area, SFI serviced a wide variety of national clients including major technology players such as Cisco, VeriSign, HP, Netscape and Microsoft, as well as consumer focused companies including Snapple and Morgan Stanley Online. The company grew from zero to $12 million in annual revenue in four years, prior to taking outside investment. In March 2003, his agency was purchased by Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners, a Sausalito based marketing communications agency, where Bruce served as President until March of 2004.

Prior to conceiving SF Interactive, Bruce had an 18-year career in advertising and corporate communications. He has worked as Director of Online Marketing at Working Assets (1995-1996), a direct marketing-based telecommunications company in San Francisco, and in Media Services and Account Management at major New York agencies including: Ogilvy & Mather, McCann Erickson, Grey Advertising, and Della Femina, McNamee.

Colin Cook


Colin entered the field of management consulting after an 9-year career in advertising, during which time he served clients such as Levi Strauss, ATT, Blue Shield, and Virgin Megastore. As an executive producer at Foote Cone Belding San Francisco and founding partner of Swirl Advertising, he witnessed firsthand that while advertising can generate interest and motivate initial trial, it is operational excellence that creates sustained customer loyalty and, ultimately, builds brand equity. He formed Shepard Associates in 2001 to help life science companies increase their customer equity by aligning processes, workforce skills, and technology.

Julie McGill


Julie McGill has been working as a marketing professional for more than 18 years and has held senior marketing management positions at both large corporations and start-ups. With a background in technology and publishing, Julie has managed the brand re-launch of a software company, developed revenue-driving marketing programs for an Internet start-up and created highly successful lead generation campaigns for an enterprise company.

Julie's expertise includes strategic planning, lead generation, online and print advertising, promotions, sales support, channel marketing, and events. Her clients include Cisco, Intuit, Yahoo!, Sybase, Broadcom and U3.

Natalie Musick


Natalie has worked in many capacities within the product development lifecycle during the last 13 years. From strategic organization planning, product management, defining product requirements and feature specifications, to managing groups of designers, engineers, and editors to launch complex websites and applications. Her key skills include assessing business needs, competitive analysis, product strategy and goals, understanding customer needs, communicating across business and technology, and team leadership.

She has worked with large corporate clients as well as played an integral role in start-up companies, clients include Verisign, Netscape, Sun Microsystems, AOL, PayPal, BigStep, Charitableway, and Real Networks.

Laurie Morgan


Laurie Morgan is a seasoned marketing executive, successful publisher and start-up specialist with 20 years of management experience and a track record of launching and expanding new businesses.

Morgan's background as an experienced entrepreneur and corporate executive proves invaluable to her work helping small and medium businesses solve operational problems, plan and execute marketing efforts, and ready themselves for growth. Prior to launching her current ventures, Morgan was the founder and president of IDG.net, the IDG Online Network. In this role she created and oversaw the IDG Global Web Advertising Network, and oversaw the IDG.net web site, which organized content from 250+ individual IDG sites in more than 10 languages. Morgan was honored by Advertising Age magazine, which named her to its list of "Women to Watch."

Neil is a seasoned technologist and software developer with over seventeen years of experience spanning multiple industries. His specialty is helping teams leverage the best technologies for realizing their strategic goals. He has worked with teams at leading marketing companies such as Saatchi and Saatchi, bringing technology insight into the creative process from creative concept through strategy, design, and implementation. Neil's talent for working closely with all contributors ensures key decisions are aligned with technical feasibility, measurability and client goals.
